Nuclear technology has an important contribution to support the global expansion of electric energy demand, as well as providing a new, highly qualified pattern in goods and services.

In this context, Brazilian Nuclear Energy Association - ABEN is promoting the 4^th International Nuclear Atlantic Conference - INAC 2009, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, from September 27 to October 2, 2009. The discussions during this event will emphasize the theme “Innovations in Nuclear Technology for a Sustainable Future”.

As with the three previous versions, the Conference will comprise two independent, but complementary technical meetings, the XVI ENFIR and the IX ENAN. Additionally, in this 4^th edition, the I ENIN is being also held.

INAC 2009 will also offer the third version of the Junior Poster Technical Sessions, wherein undergraduate students from a number of Brazilian colleges and universities present the relevant results achieved in their research work, under supervision of nuclear researchers from Brazilian institutions.

Completing the one-week program, there will be a technical and commercial exhibition, ExpoINAC, which represents a unique opportunity to be in contact with updated nuclear technology, products and services that contribute to the improvement of life quality. To conclude, it is important to emphasize that in its 2007 edition, the INAC had more than 800 technical papers presented and over 1,000 participants attending the Conference.
